Squirrel recently sent out a note to jog our collective memories that it's been 15 years (whoa!) since we trod the white blaze trail. Here's her post (yes, Fast Fingers, I added you to this list -- didn't realize you weren't already on it :) ) > Hello fellow hikers! > > Yes- it's time again. This spring weather here in Raleigh really has me wistfully wanting to get more time on trail (any trail...) -- Springer fever. Oh -- and for those who don't know yet, Big John won't be there. He does have a valid excuse this year... he'll be on the PCT. Hike on! Seemed like I couldn't get a response or a peep out of you a couple years ago. Glad to hear you're still alive and kicking. I'm not sure if I'll be at TDs this year either...what's your excuse? I'm working on it as we speak. It will probably be a last minute decision on my part. I'd like to get there but we'll see. Have you heard from any others who are going? I'll assume you've been doing nothing but working since last we corresponded. Not me, I'm still a "Drifter"! Doing whatever I have to and as little as I can get away with. The last thirteen months have been spent writing a book about my '94 thru-hike. Don't know when it'll be finished. Soon I hope. My buddy Tee-Weight (AT 94, Springer-Damascus) is reading (editing) the first 121 pages of my manuscript right now. I still have another 200 to work on afterwards. How are the kids and Solophile? You guys still running both businesses? Hope the economic down turn hasn't been too bad for you. Things are a little slow up here. I've been unemployed since Thanksgiving. Slowly things are starting to change though. I hope this finds you well and happy. Drop a line sometime.
