It wishes your cooperation in our investigation and research $B!J(BNi Posted by: "inatomi.riyuu" a64024 at cit.nihon-u.ac.jp Wed Oct 22, 2008 7:59 am (PDT) Dear Sir [Madam]: I am writing to you on behalf of a group of researchers at the Kawagishi Lab in the Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering, College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University. Last September we sent you a survey with a request for participation by email. The purpose of this letter is to thank you for your response and to ask for your assistance in responding to a few more questions. The study involves determining the role of environmental coexistence and living at cohousing projects in the United States in community-building, in order to identify what Japan can learn from these projects. By using the results of this survey to analyze and consider the future role and significance of cohousing in society, we hope to arrive at a proposal for the housing environment of the future. We feel that the assistance of Pacifica would be of invaluable assistance to our research. Accordingly, although we realize how busy you must be, we would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions. Please type your responses directly into the file and return it by email. In addition, if you are able to provide any pamphlets for Pacifica Community, floor plans for private houses, the floor plan for the common house, land use plans, or other references, we would appreciate it if you could provide the data by email or, if in hard copy form, by mail to the Research Lab postal address. Thank you again for your cooperation. Sincerely, Umekazu Kawagishi, Professor, Dr. Eng. (Ph. Pacifica! Posted by: "Scott Fox" SFox at huc.edu Wed Oct 22, 2008 10:13 am (PDT) Hi Pacifica! I'm new to the area and living currently in Carrboro (near the Open Eye) but I am living alone (an experince I thought would be good to do once in my life) and I miss very much being with people!! I lived in a Co-op in Santa Cruz California for about 2 years and have also lived on a Kibbutz in Israel and I have heard wonderful things about the cohousing community that you have created here in Carrboro. I went with my girlfriend to walk around the other day and I love it!! I was wondering what the process of joining the community was. I have experience in Permaculture and organic gardening... It just looks like a good match. Let me know!! Best, Scott Fox -- Scott Fox 110 C W.
